My name is Kaddie (pronouned like Katie, not Caddy). I love horror movies, doughnuts, and cartoons. I’m the youngest of 4 girls, I grew up in the South, and was a total Tomboy as a kid. I make my own jewelry and I have half a dozen movie-themed tattoos. While my friends prefer to go out to bars and biergartens, I prefer hitting up the Dairy Queen on my way to home to settle down to watch The Ducktails movie.
Did I mention I’m in my 30s?
I grew up in the 80s and 90s, also known as the Age of Dunkaroos. While my parents did cook wholesome dinners for my family, I certainly had my fair share of snacks that consisted of a can of Dr. Pepper and a pack of S’Mores Pop Tarts.
As I got older, I learned more about the food I was eating and realized that if soda could be used to clean toilets and car batteries, I probably shouldn’t be consuming it as frequently as I did as a kid.
As I became an adult, I started losing people in my life. Some to “natural causes”. I saw that some of these “natural causes” could have been prevented by proper diet, exercise…just taking care of oneself.
I know there are some “freaks of nature” out there who can live off of cigars, spam, and Bud Light, and live to be 107. But, I have decided to do what I can to make sure I live as long as I can, and not die young of “Natural Causes” as loved ones have.
My love of Horror movies has taught me many things, like to run out of the house and not up the stairs. Something else it has done is made aware of my mortality, and it makes me want to take care of myself all the more.
There are countless Horror movies I have not seen, iconic donut shops I have not visited, Horror Conventions I have not attended, and cartoons that I still want to show my nephews. I want to be alive and well for all of those things! Not mention, I want to be around for my husband and my precious dogs.
